the dates of the winter and summer Olympics are set so the winter in the South is the Summer in the North, although some summer Olympics have been held within the required dates the weather has not been good and the weather requirements as in snow and ice during our winter and their summer would not work.

There aren't as many snowy mountains in the Southern Hemisphere in February, which is their summer.

There are only two countries with adequate snowfields for the games, those being Australia (in NSW and Victoria) and in New Zealand.
