What did you think about the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy?

I thought that the games went well and were very organized but I would not say that it was the best Winter Olympics I have ever watched since I have been watching the Winter Olympics in 1994. I would rate the Winter Olympics since I have watched the Winter Olympic Games in this order;

1. Lillehammer 1994 – The Games of the XVII Winter Olympic Games
2. Salt Lake City 2002 – The Games of the XIX Winter Olympic Games
3. Torino 2006 – The Games of the XX Winter Olympic Games
4. Nagano 1998 – The Games of the XVIII Winter Olympic Games

I think the winter olympics were pretty good, not the best I've seen, but still very interesting seeing new countries winning medals. What I was a little disappointed about was the performance of Bode Miller. He was portrayed to be very good by the media, but then screwed up in most of his events.

I thought they were wonderful, a nice bit of European class between two North American Games. In terms of ranking (having seen games since Calgary 1988), I would rank them:



Nagano 1998, Lillehammer 1994, Turin 2006, Salt Lake City 2002, Albertville 1992, Calgary 1988

It's an incredible example of human discipline, endurance and (hopefully) sportsmanship...a test of how well or how poorly athletes perform under pressure and the eyes of the world. It's also a great opportunity to learn about the host country and appreciate a different culture.

24 medels yet many Canadians say 25 medels as an Australian gained the Mens Mogles. The Aussie who gained that's actully Canadian yet moved to Australia and traned in Australia by way of fact the Canadian group did no longer think of he substitute into sturdy adequate. He entered as an Australian and gained GOLD!!! haha Canada!
