Your assertion about respectable athletes within the Olympics just isn't authentic. Actually reliable athletes were representing their nations because the early 80s. Its only been the american reputable leagues that disallowed its players to participate. Now not the olympic commitee. Actually those other "amateurs" from the other countries play for leagues in their country. FIFA suspends its football (soccer) season for the period of the the Olympics so its gamers can participate. So does tennis as you see there aren't any tournaments happening right now. If it was the iciness olympics canadian hockey leagues would even be placed on maintain. Its apparent reliable tennis, soccer, and hockey gamers also play in the olympics for his or her respective countries should you simply look. U.S. Basketball simply is through a ways essentially the most dominant with its official athletes. MLB truly prohibits its avid gamers from taking part in, however the IOC does not. If they weren't below contract with MLB they could take part within the Olympics.

It is hard to say, what you say might be true, but in the past other nation's always used their pro/highest level players. So if the USA only used college players now, if would essentially be our college team vs. the pros from other countries, minus one or two NBA players on foreign teams if all NBA players were banned.

I agree, having it open to amateurs levels the playing field a bit and makes it more entertaining. The way it is now, pretty much all we're watching is the USA score the whole time.
