It seems like everyone I know hates curling. When you learn the rules/basic strategy of this sport (very easy to learn the rules at least IMO), the sport becomes a drug. I'm hooked.

Who knows why people get worked up about it. If they don't like it, they can just choose not to watch.

Me, I love it. I can't get enough. Every other sport is so fast and frantic, and curling is almost meditative. It's so cerebral, and also so slow and deliberate, with so much emphasis on skill and strategy. Just because you aren't hitting people or moving 90 MPH doesn't mean it isn't a sport or isn't exciting. There's a lot of drama in these games. I love it!

I have to agree with Steve that the ladies are easy on the eyes, too. :) Cheryl Bernard of Canada ... Natalie Nicholson, Nicole Joranstaad, and Debbie McCormick of USA ... Eve Muirhead of Great Britain, even with her skunk hair. :)

Haha, I was watching it with a bunch of friends, and someone said that the best curlers are the best housekeepers (all the sweeping). I'm watching USA and China right now. I understand it, and I watch a decent amount of it. It's not my favorite, but I do watch it. The good looking women are an added bonus too. I think out of all the games, curling has the best looking women.

I quite enjoy it myself. But then, I can happily sit through a 5 day cricket match, so I don't require constant edge of the seat excitement in a sport.

Probably because people don't realize how hard it is, until they try it and end up on their ***. It's deceptively challenging, both physically and mentally, and anyone who says otherwise has obviously never played.

And to the guy who said it doesn't take skill and precision, you're not very bright. That's basically what curling is.

It's more that people don't associate it with being a sport. It is more or less a bar game writ large.

I do enjoy the game but I understand the criticisms of it.

if its the thing with the flat bowling balls with a handle and you use a broom to guide it then its probbaly because its uneventfull and boring im afraid, and the game itself is so crazy im suprised its an olimpic sport, " i know lets throw stuff down an icey lane and use brooms to guide it" i can't belive its classed as a sport, i thought sports invilved indurance, strength and stamina aswell as skill and presision.

Curling has just as much right to be in the Olympics as snowboarding.

Any sport that you can be fat and can all the beer you want without having to worry about getting overweight is cool with me.

i don't really find it to be a sport. i don't really see a purpose in the olympics for it.
