New York made a bid for the 2012 games but failed to recieve teh votes necssary

they might bid again if the US ever decides to make a bid for the games again in which 2024 for the summer games wpould be the earliest

Logistics. Other than MSG and US Open courts nowhere to play the many sports. New Jersey could actually do better with all the stuff there dice it's not so spread out.

Also I think the world doesn't want the biggest American city getting the games. I think they are ok with atlanta and salt lake even LA as its so diverse while NYC is also the Muslims and middle easterners would have to admit their people killed over 2000 innocent people on 9/11

No because NYC is way to crowded and compacted and let's not mention the traffic.

London is a busy city as well but they are lot more land space then NYC.

Philadelphia or Washington DC have a better chance of hosting the Olympics then NYC.

I live in NYC and i've asked myself that question too! but the problem is that there's not much room to make new stadiums. They would also need to build new staduim for swimming, wrestling and etc.and NYC is crowded enough. They would also need to build a soccer stadium unless they are going to use the red bull Arena although that's not in NYC but NJ but people say that's NY when it's not! I would love the olympics to be here but i don't know if that would happen.

The Olympics will most likely not be held at New York, because New York is so compact with buildings and skyscrapers that there will be no room.

That would be awesome.......but the reality is.......there really isn't anywhere to build OLYMPIC quality facilities. Perhaps. like London, they can tear down all the slums and oil plants in Newark.....and build a stunning new Olympic Park, with VIEWS of New York Harbor....but it would all be in New Jersey mostly. We could symbolically hold a few events.......but, realistically.....where do we do the Kayaking or Sailing? The events would be too far spread out, over the tri-state area.....and security............forget it. We'd need to spend TRILLIONS to secure it all. There's no way it would be worth the cost.

It would be awesome if they could do it though.........but we're better suited for the WINTER games, upstate.

theres not much room to build, its already crowded as hell and the safety of tourists is questionable. and frankly, its not that great of a city. i mean i live right outside nyc and its expensive as hell, most venues even in nyc sports are in new jersey (where i live) and unlike london, theres not much where you can cut down buildings and then rebuild. i mean that hae only 1 olympic size pool, i dont know a great outdoor track stadium. they have the armory, but thats indoor. they have a tennis venue, msg is multi functional, but cant do a lot at once and the meadowlands is in nj where youre going to have to pay ridiculous tolls every day. and i cant see queens holding something. the bronx might be ok, but thats one of the tougher areas.

Its not hold its host. Probably not. NYC is to dense and compact to host the games.

most likely not. not just cause of the room, but because it's really expensive.
