Yes, I imagine so. They must do stretches before they lift weights or they'd definitely pull something. They may not be as flexible as say gymnasts, but I think they would have to be pretty damn flexible to accomplish what they do.

Weightlifters -yes. Especially in their shoulders.



Powerlifters - not necessarily so. They don't really need to be flexible so it is mostly keeping healthy that they stretch.

Good ones are because you stretch before each workout and after.. Most bodybuilders are very flexible, it's not uncommon for them to be able to do the splits. Getting stronger will naturally shorten muscle tissue, so you have to stretch to retain even slight mobility

I concur with biniah (sp?). Weightlifters who don't stretch don't last. Eventually they'll tear something because their muscles become too tight.
