Why does channel 7 show like 4 hours of swimming and ten minutes of another sport?

What the hell is going on. It's like for every hour of swimming you get 5 minutes of boxing or weightlifting in between. I'm over swimming.

Cos we only win medals in swimming I guess lol... Just kidding we win in other sports, but most of the medals are in the pool.

I know what you mean though, show some variety!!

Channel 7 have done a pretty dodgy coverage overall though, so many technical faults and commentator stuff ups.

What a shaggy dog tale the channel 7 coverage has been. permit me in basic terms supply you some examples a million.while using abode from my activity of close by basketball i assumed i could pay attention to the olympics on the radio, the a hundred hurdles heats for women folk became on with Sally Mclellan, she controlled to qualify for the suitable what an incredible attempt. as quickly as abode I showered then sat right down to video show the olympics and wager what channel 7 suggested became coming up next, yep a hundred hurdles. 2. while the Aussies men performed the U. S. interior the a million/4 very final of the basketball channel 7 in no way confirmed the 1st a million/4 and and we additionally overlooked a million/2 of the 2d, they confirmed the end of the softball which became honest adequate yet we overlooked the start of the bball, to be sure finished activity after the softball could have been solid. 3. And right this moment the suitable u . s . a . v Spain interior the bball very close thrilling activity and we pass over the tip what a shame, channel 7 went to the information and for the 1st 6 minutes or so they practice highlights of the olympics WTF. Thank god they are actually not doing 2012

Swimming gets the nod here because the races are short and commercials can be shown frequently without affecting the competition. Secondly, these are events that Australia traditionally does well in so good ratings (and advertising dollars) make swimming an attractive proposition.

Unfortunately, other events (sprints in athletics excepted) do not lend themselves to frequent commercial breaks nor have the perceived attraction for the viewers.

I know, right! I'm watching the gymnastics now, some of the few minutes they actually put it on. I guess our country likes to watch swimming.. we win quite a few medals in it, and it might be the sport that has the most events and heats.

I got home from work at 4pm. I've seen a couple of replays of this mornings swimming and a couple of replays of the gymnastics. there must be more sports going on.

They are showing what people want to see, great athletes winning medals and breaking world records. you can hardly blame them for that. It will be the same again when the track and field starts. you will see all the track and hardly any field.

this isnt going to please you, but it is why

swimming races pulls a larger audience than gymnastics, just as track races pulls in more crowds than most field events thats why the two are scheduled apart.
