The reason the United States and the World in general should boycott the Olympics is simple...... China was being mean to Tibet trying to take it over and what better way to show are disaprovel then to Boycott the single biggest political event, the reason it is politcal is because countries go to these events bringing the best athelets to show just how great of a country they are, so they get global attention. I mean look at the Olympics during WWII and tell me that had no political stance and you would be a complete idiot. So when people say that the Olympics have nothing to with politics I wonder just how stupid they really are.... Also when president Bush says that the Olympics have nothing to do with politics do you really believe him???????

At this factor, no, no person might desire to be boycotting the olympics. we'd desire to continuously have been throwing a extra healthful 10 YEARS in the past, whilst Beijing grow to be first chosen.(Olympic sites are chosen way in boost). The movements of the chinese language government are no longer new, without delay, in basic terms began going on, issues. the international community might desire to have reported, some time past then, 'in case you opt for for the Olympics, freshen up your act.' Now, the region has been chosen, this is too previous because of returned out. there grow to be an excellent style of threat in basic terms before now.

There is no reason to boycott the games. Thats like saying we should boycott baseball and football because the use steriods. Don't boycott the games just to get you point across, you have all the time in the world to do that after the games happen.

Enough is enough. The U.S. can boycott the Olympic Games all they want, it'll just give more medals to China, but there is no reason to stop the Olympic Games altogether. A lot of Americans are misinformed by the American media, which is probably the worst media in the world, about the occurrences of Tibet. It's not as if all Tibetans are innocent and are victims, as they have attacked innocent Chinese civilians and rioted themselves. The Olympic Games are the chance of a lifetime for the athletes competing in them, and none of them have any connection to the events in Tibet. To carry the torch is the dream for most of the athletes, and for that to be ruined by selfish rioters is absolutely disgraceful.

This is the moment millions of Chinese people all around the world have been waiting for. For the athletes like Yao Ming and Liu Xiang to go for Olympic glory. We should not have to have politics and selfish rioters to ruin this dream. China will be strong, and the Olympic Games will continue.

Boycotting the Olympics is stupid because this is a sporting event where thousands of athletes and billions of people come together to celebrate athletics and each other's cultures. This reasoning of boycotting because of Tibet and Sudan (for oil) and also this lead in toys is circumspect at best. Hey, let's boycott the Olympics in America because we support autocratic regimes in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East(for oil)! Let's boycott the Winter Olympics in Canada because they kill baby seals! Let's boycott the next Olympics in London because they presided over the largest empire the wotrld has known and was a willing participant in the occupation of Iraq! No nation on Earth is perfect. To throw stones at China only further antagonizes other nations towards us. Our ethnocentric way of thinking is the reason so many in the world dislike the US. We cannot force democracy down people's throats their people must do it on their own for it to truly work. China is, like many other nations, in economic adolescence, they are still learning and adapting to how capitalism and a industrial society works much like the wealthiest nations did decades or even a century ago. There are hiccups in the development of a country and no one is immune to this. Please read your history books and do some investigation on other nation's histories we're all the same. To use a boycott as punisment or to send a message is silly. It doesn't work (see Moscow olympics, LA Olympics). And at worst further alienates us from the rest of the world.

we should not, maybe we should pull out of Iraq first because we look like hypocrites complaining about a war there. And if we piss china off they may feel like taking there ONE AND A HALF TRILLION DOLORS BACK which would sent the US in depression. Also there is pollution but it is not as bad as people think
