For a man about 5 feet 6 inches would be an ideal gymnast.
For a woman about 5 feet 4 to 5 feet 8 and weigh no more than 100#
Dancer should be on the tall side.
For someone 5 feet 9 tango would be best. Make sure your partner is at least 3-4 inches shorter if you are a man.

Tallest Gymnast In The World

While most elite female gymnasts are under 5 ft 4 in., there have been several standout gymnasts who were taller than that, particuarly Svetlana Khorkina, a three-time world all-around champion, and 5-time world uneven bars champion (twice gold in that event at the Olympics), who challenged the the unofficial height rule at 5 ft 5 1/2 in, as well as the unoffical age limit rule, winning her third world all-around title at age 24. At the NCAA level, there are large numbers of champion gymnasts who are well over 5 ft 4 in. But if you want to know what is the average, then that would probably be between 4 ft 8 in and 5 ft 3 in, with anything above 5 ft 4 in considered very tall.

Girl gymnasts usually range from about 4'9" to 5'4".
Perfect height for a fancer is around 5'4"-ish. Not too tall, not too short. That's my height, and I think it's ideal for gymnastics and dance. I do both.
If you're 5'9", you should probably go for a dance that involves a lot of jumps and leaps because you could probably jump pretty high for them.

It doesn't really matter how tall you are as long as you can pull your routines well.... You'd have to adjust your routines to be more elegant with a longer line as opposed to the more athletic looking pixie-ish athletes. But it can be done. As for dance, I think at 5'9 you can really do anything you want to do.

It depends. most gymnasts range from 4' 10 - 5' 4. but as long as you are confident you can do anything!

you can be any size, but it is much easyer if your short! the tallest gymnast is like 5.4! I'm 5.7 and it's a big disadvantage, but i just deal with it i can't make myslf any shorter!!
