well like about 2 weeks ago i had a tricep injury in which i think i might've had a small tear. cuzz even people around me heard it.. but the thing is my arms is good i can move it, still hurts when i do certain excercises but i dont think its a big tear. MY questions is has anyone had that happen to them.. was the muscle still able to grow? was it the same? did it heal to 100%? anything i can do to make it heal faster? any answers would really help me calm down because its been really messing with my head ANYONE?

in bodybuilding there are always tears, lifting you are doing mini tears everytime you use it, that's how it grows. It repairs itself and gets stronger, what you probaly did was starin it, and it's not too big of a tear because if it was major you wouldn't be able to use your whole arm. See whenever an athlete a sprinter is running and they tear/pull a muscle it's like they got shot in that area and instantly fall to the ground, they aren't moving much without aid/stretcher so you didn't do much to it. Rest it, ice it, get some inflammtories and even get physio traetment if you can afford it, then when it's getting better, do alternating cold and warm compress and work it back slowly.

As far as I know it will take a good amount of time for a muscle to heal. I haven't had one tear yet but the people that I know who have said it was painful. I would say don't work that muscle out for at least a month or at least until you have no pain. Best yet go to a wieght that you feel no pain when you work that muscle.

EDIT: Listen to Dave. Sounds like he's been there.

i had my shoulder inujred at work and the dumb doctor kept saying oh you'll be ok no worries. She put me on light duty but i still complained and complained until i went to my union rep and told them. They got on them and they finally sent me for an mri which showed a muscle tear, I feel the shot will do nothing but prolong the inevidable which is surgery, because a tear is just that.I feel they probably have to go in and re connect the affected area.I feel it is dumb when a doctor does not listen to their patient since we know what we feel in our bodies

If it's a tear it will heal with imobility. The best choice is to see a doctor.

i dont like to give bad news, but you need to get it checked. that happened to me and like you i wasn't sure. but i went by the rule no pain no gain. that rule is b.s. because about a week and a half later i completely tore it and had to have surgery. my bodybuilding days are over now because of that. so please have it checked some will heal with time off some need minor surgery, but if you completely tear it its over
